COVID Screening Protocols for Executive War College Event

In this time of SARS-CoV-2 and variants, be assured that it is safety first for everyone attending the Executive War College on Laboratory and Pathology Management event, which takes place on April 27-28 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Appropriate protocols will be maintained prior to, during, and after the conference.

We are closely tracking guidelines and directives of the CDC, as well as state, parish, and city guidelines for New Orleans that are intended to assure a safe environment for attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff. When we assemble in April for the meeting, those measures might include mask recommendations, daily screening and temperature checks, and the availability of onsite rapid PCR testing.

You will also be interested to learn that when the Executive War College event was conducted last November in San Antonio, our COVID-19 protocols included

  • a pre-event description of the steps being taken to protect the health and safety of all participants, consistent with the CDC, state, county, and city directives then in effect.
  • A daily screening program before admission to the conference facilities that was effective and received positively by our attendees.
  • The availability of a CLIA-complex rapid PCR COVID-19 testing on site.

On each day of the 2021 Executive War College, all 400 attendees, sponsors, speakers, and staff were screened before entering the 2021 conference, including a temperature check. Our protocol called for a CLIA-complex rapid PCR test to be performed on-site for any individual who did not pass the screening. The effectiveness of these protocols was indicated by the fact that no individual needed a rapid PCR test

It is also useful for you to know that, as of March 24, 2022, the City of New Orleans no longer requires individuals to show proof of vaccination or a COVID-19 negative test before entering many indoor spaces, including restaurants.  For more information, visit the City of New Orleans COVID-19 page.

Expect us to do regular updates on this page, as well as email all registered attendees with relevant changes and developments that involve health and safety protocols that will be in place when we come together on April 27-28, 2022, for the 27th Annual Executive War College. Health authorities continue to encourage you to be vaccinated if this NOLA requirement expires by April.
